The Hong Kong Prize
The Hong Kong Prize offers HK$ 2 million sponsored by Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited to reward scientific research in the fields that are relevant to Hong Kong. This includes artificial intelligence and robotics, life and health, new materials and energy, advanced manufacturing, and FinTech. The Prize will be awarded to no more than five persons (or teams) per award field. Each winner will receive a cash prize, a certificate, and a trophy.
The prize is open to all enrolled secondary school students in Hong Kong. Students are required to be nominated by their teachers and must submit their artworks online before the submission deadline. Each student may submit up to three artworks. A panel of judges will select 20 shortlisted entries to be awarded. The public can also vote online for their favourite student artwork to win the Public Vote Prize. The winner of the Public Vote Prize will receive HK$4,000, and HK$10,000 will be awarded to the student’s school.

Besides the above mentioned awards, hk prize also organises other events such as the International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS). The event is a global immersive platform that brings scholars, civil society representatives, and practitioners together from all over the world to exchange views on a wide range of issues relating to Hong Kong. The ICAS also provides a platform for publishers, institutes and universities to showcase their publications.
The HK Prize has set up a Review Committee and Compliance Oversight Team to ensure the operation of the award is carried out professionally, objectively, and impartially. Its charter stipulates that the Review Committee and the Compliance Oversight Team will not accept applications from people who have a conflict of interest in any way. Any person who violates the provisions of the charter will be disqualified. The Board reserves the right to withdraw the prize money, certificate, and trophy in such circumstances. The Board will take other appropriate measures as necessary.
